Residential Inspections
We conduct a thorough inspection of your home or prospective home in accordance
with the standards of the American Society of Home Inspectors, otherwise known as "ASHI".
To learn more about ASHI and the requirements to become an ASHI inspector, click on the link just above. You've made the decision to get a home inspection, but now it's time to choose the best inspector you can afford.
All home inspections reports are computer generated and include both a summary
and full report, which contains full digital photographs. Your inspection report
will be emailed following the completion of your inspection. In addition to the
emailed version of your report, you will receive a 1 inch binder containing a
hard copy of your summary and full reports as well as a CD copy for your records.
Additional items contained in the binder will include a 128 page Homeowner's Handbook,
a hard copy of ASHI standards of practice, a closing checklist and a glossary of home
inspection terms.
For the best inspection experience, your presence is encouraged. If you can't be present
for the inspection, the binder and its contents will be mailed the following business day.
To learn more about the inspection process, I encourage you to click on the ASHI's
link to view ASHI's Virtual Home Inspection Tour. I also encourage you to click the
link to the left of the home page to view a "Sample Report". As always, I'm here
to answer any questions you may have regarding your home inspection.
In addition to the basic home inspection, I can inspect your pool, spa and septic system.
Furthermore, I can conduct water quality analysis as well. This is especially useful if
the home you're purchasing is served by a private water system or well.
Commercial Inspections
Choosing to have an inspection of your investment property makes good business sense.
I can inspect nearly any size building from small duplexes to large apartment complexes,
strip malls, office buildings, warehouses, or multi level buildings. When necessary,
I organize a team of trained and licensed professionals to assist me in evaluating
the condition of roofs, cooling and electrical systems. All inspection are followed
up with a written summary report outlining the condition of the building.
Air Quality / Mold Inspections
I am equipped and trained to conduct air quality / mold inspections of your
residential or commercial property. As a Certified Mold Assessor, I conduct a
physical inspection of the building to look for any visible evidence of suspicious
microbial growth. If a suspicious growth is located, appropriate swab samples
are taken. In addition to any swab samples, air samples are taken of both the
inside and outside of the building. Air samples are important as they collect
microscopic air-born particles that may otherwise be undetected by physical examination.
All samples taken are sent to a certified laboratory. Having taken a sample
of the exterior air, the lab can determine if any different types of mold are present
in the building that are not found in the outdoor environment. Air sampling also
reveals if any elevated levels of mold or mold like substances exist within the
building. A report of the labs findings is usually available for your review
via email within a couple of business days. A computer generated report summarizing
the physical inspection will be forwarded to you as well. Said report may contain
digital photographs to further assist in documenting any unusual mold conditions.
To learn more about this process or the laboratory that I use, click on the links
to the left. I am a member of the Environmental Solutions Association which provides
continued education and I generally refer my samples to Pro-Lab.
